The festival of great examples.
4 May 2026. 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Bucerius Law School, Hamburg.
2MR is a festival that focuses on democracy-strengthening social media. Communication professionals from business, culture, media, municipalities, and public administration demonstrate how they successfully use open networks without relying on big tech.
“2MR” is pronounced “zwoMR” and can be read as “tomorrow” – the social media of tomorrow is being shaped today!

The free internet has been abolished: the growing dominance of big tech monopolies has led to a concentration of opinion-forming power that threatens our democracy. But the internet belongs to all of us! Our society needs better platforms for social networking, exchange and debate. And there are many good examples of this.
2MR shows you these projects, the role models, the beacons for how we can reclaim the social web. And we engage in dialogue with politicians, businesses, associations and organisations about how we can strengthen new networks.
A perfect location for great ideas.

The Moot Court is located on the first floor of the historic main building of Bucerius Law School close to Hamburg´s Dammtor train station.
The stylish, circular room under the illuminated glass dome creates the perfect atmosphere for our festival. The university uses the room primarily for moot courts, i.e. simulated court hearings.
